Free and Open to the Public!

Experience the deep peace and serenity of the North End Trails on Madeline Island through this guided natural journaling class. Combining the art of observation, writing, sketching, and watercolor, nature journaling is a way to slow down, notice and capture the unique essence — the wooded trails, flora, fungi, and hemlock groves — of northern Madeline Island. This class will focus on field-sketching and writing techniques that will enable you to capture your impression of the natural world. All materials are provided for the class and all abilities are welcome.

Location:  Burroughs Trail Head, 2.5 miles north of Benjamin Boulevard on North Shore Drive
