Join me for demonstrations of hands-on things you can do to help protect yard trees from spongy moth defoliation.

  • Learn to identify spongy moth egg masses

  • Survey spongy moth egg masses to predict defoliation

  • Destroy egg masses

  • Trap tiny caterpillars soon after they hatch: Make a sticky barrier band

  • Trap larger caterpillars as they crawl up the trunk to feed: Make a burlap band trap
