Forest Classroom: See the Forest and the Trees, Burroughs Trail

We were wondering if anyone would show up for our See the Forest and the Trees hike — the rain had turned to light drizzle and we were still hearing thunder — but we did get a wonderful group of children, parents and grandparents, and the sun came out during the hike! Monday, July 12 was a perfect afternoon to visit the Ravine Trail above the Big Bay Lagoon with Margie Menzies. Our group learned a lot about the forest. Spring Wetlands From The Capser Trail and Observation Deck

It was a gorgeous spring day on Madeline Island, and a perfect day to view the wetlands from the Capser Trail Observation Deck. The Observation Deck is a very short hike from the trail parking lot off Middle Road. Spring is also a wonderful time to look and listen for migrating birds!
