2026 Entry: How Very Sweet It Is

Re our 2025 entry: How very sweet it is, the first Madeline Island Fourth of July Parade Grand Sweepstakes prize for MIWP since 2018, “The Year of the Bird"! I don’t remember the name of our 2025 float, something like “Have a Blooming Good Time”, but in the end we were just a giant bouquet of enormous wildflowers surrounded by Monarch butterflies, a little jolt of happiness for an uncertain time. If you haven’t seen the videos, take a look at them under Fourth of July Parade, 2025; they are terrific (thanks, Pixie). A bucketload of thanks also to Friends of Berit who threw themselves into the artistic side of parade floats and came out with something unique and wonderful.

Let’s do it again.

And speaking of doing it again, it’s that time. We are still kicking around all sorts of great ideas, mushrooms, Harry Potter, Bad Bunnies (!), rehashing something we have done before, etc. etc. Whatever we do, you can know it will be timely, environmental, filled with bad puns and heartbreakingly poignant. Join us, we really would love to share this with you. Meet at the marina under the MIWP banner 30 minutes prior to the parade start (parade usually starts at 10:30 AM but check with the Chamber of Commerce or a board member to be sure). Children and ambulatory pets are very welcome.
